Liverpool Daily Post.co.uk - News - Liverpool News - Tesco boss Sir Terry Leahy appears to reject Liverpool peace offer

Sir Terry added: “Tesco is still working with Knowsley council on the development of Kirkby town centre and I am sure we are going to produce a really good development for the town centre.
“I think, for their own reasons which you can understand, Everton for the moment are not progressing with Kirkby and are considering other options. “I think it could still be on the table, yes. But I can understand why the club want to consider other options.”

He's having a laugh isn't he?

If ever a man saw his personal stock decline it's this feller.

Give it up, Terry. The war's over. You lost.

Revealed himself to be a real snide lately. Blocking that development off for Gt Homer Street and acting like a massive tit over the Everton decision. Tesco in the community. <snigger>

Kenwright himself said its dead. Elstone's progressing with other options.

The club wont be going near it again now. No exclusivity arrangement (and unlikely whilst Elstone's there to go near one again too!) and it would need another vote of the fanbase.

And hence discussions with LCC and the commission of the other architectural consultancy to look at GP again.

Tesco. No. In a word.

LCC have the same standing as Kaiser Willhelm's Imperial regime for some. Strange. Everton were to blame for the Great War of 2007-2009.

As councils go they hardly have the best reputation and standing.

And thats not even taking into consideration the issue of Everton being denied site after site.

I'm not so sure that it would have to have a vote, it didn't have to last time, the club chose to and said they would go with the result. It isn't mandatory to have one. I'm not so sure that we will get that option again, whatever scheme we get involved in.

It would have to the precedent's been set the last time.

That project's been rejected and officially no longer pursued.

Therefore any option in theory going to require a vote of the fanbase...

Precendent.

It would be abit bizarre not to give the fans the vote (on any option), considering they did last time.

Exactly. He's singing from a different hymnsheet from Knowsley Council and Everton FC. I think the multi-million pound earning baked beans salesman has lost the plot. He needs to be put on gardening duty.
