Tottenham for me are strictly a cup side, have been going back to the Jurassic Park era, they do like a good run and have been quite successful in the League Cup in recent years doing what Leicester did about a decade a go. Redknapp is a fine manager, always has been and I greatly admire him and Spurs can once again go far in the cup tourneys but a Champions leagues berth looks unlikely even though they have started well.
Tired of hearing about how great City are, no matter what is said I can't help feeling they have been a mediocre side for years with little history, with wait for it, One league cup to their name since 1970.
Hardly big and successful by any stretch of the imagination.
And now, lo and behold we have talk lately that City are, in fact, bigger than Everton. I ask you.
As for ourselves, a poor start, a bye through to the 3rd round of the League Cup, having never won this competiton going back to 1961, which with hindsight leaves me at a loss, we could finally break that hoodoo this year, and there's always the FA cup, still thinking that we actually made the final just three months ago which seems strange after the first few games.
8th place, league cup semi-finals and a 3rd round exit at Torquay in the FA cup. (6th round really)
Looking forward to the game later this night, even if this fixture seems a little academic.
