Bruce Wayne

Player Valuation: £100m
Starts this weekend. Reckon it'll be a cracker myself. Armstrong is back, Contador is looking very good, Sastre will defend his title strongly, Menchov looked good in winning the Giro, Evans will be there or there abouts, then you have youngsters like Andy Schleck (my personal tip for the win). The race is wide open. Throw into the mix Cavendish going for the green jersey and it should be a blinding race. Can't wait.

I cannot wait either!

It's gonna be a good one this year methinks. Armstrong and Contador in the same team!! Was reading an interview with Contador saying that there won't be any divisions in the team..... hmm. I think when push comes to shove Lance will have his allies and Contador his. Could be very interesting. Being a big Lance fan I'd much rather he was in a different team!

I'm a fan of Andy Schleck as well, him and Contador could be the two big riders for years and years. Potentially some legendary Armstrong v Ullrich-esque battles...???

The prologue in Monaco should be good as well, takes in some of the Grand Prix circuit and is a bit hilly. C'mon Lance

No way will Armstrong win it this time around. Could be a big mistake him coming out of retirement, I'm sure this one or two unfinished scores to be settled. The French cant stand him.

Anyway, he's too old and I hope the arrogant so-and-so get's swept up by the broom wagon.

I used to enjoy watching it but you never know if the winner of a stage or the whole tour is doped up.

Spoils it in my opinion.

I don't really have a problem with it. They are all on drugs, every last one of them, so it's a level playing field.

That goes for most individual sports these days.

To be fair you don't know if the winner of Wimbledon isn't doping up either. In 2008 there were just 2,000 drug tests for tennis players, which considering there are probably 2,000 players in both tours is a joke. There were also just 10 or so tests done for EPO last year, none of which were done at Wimbledon. Cycling catches people because the testing is so rigorous. Other sports seem happier to brush it under the carpet.

ITV 4 today, at 4:30 pm. Really glad ITV have picked it up and seem to be dedicating a subsidiary channel to it, it has been 'off air' for too long.
Thomas Dekker has been removed so another brit is riding, (just reading now about how he was caught Dekker Tour ban won't be the last - tourdefrance - Sport - smh.com.au) Charlie Wegelius has replaced him on the lotto team.
Will there be a tour bet thing, pick a winner for respective jerseys, total finishers, total removed for doping.

ITV have had the coverage for a few years now, it's generally really good. Chris Boardman makes a good pundit and the commentry from Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen is loads better than the Eurosport team.

I've just been out for a quick 20 miler to get in the mood (y)

Not sure why Wegelius wasn't in the team to begin with. Cadel Evans is always left on his own in the mountains, Wegelius is at least a decent climber so can give him some help.

Nice day for a ride today Rodders, did a bit this morning myself. Should be a cracking prologue. Bit longer than usual. With a team time trial on stage 4 there's a good chance of seeing Wiggins in yellow. Fingers crossed.
