Welcome to Barcelonaton FC
Funny enough, never heard of the feller but after watching this documentary... He looked like some player back in the day (check out his corners).

Anyone remember him at the time? Seems to have been a forgotten footballer due to the times (racism etc).

I read a preview about him on the Daily Mail website and I didn't know anything about him other than vaguely hearing his name a time or two.

I'd love to see it but unfortunately, I'm a bit far away.

My dad rates him.

Never forgave him for being marked out of the final vs liverpool, though. He was giving the big one saying cunningham would tear them apart.

Big Ron called him, Regis and Batson ' The three degrees '..

Like him or hate him, Ron gave lads a chance when others wouldnt !

His injuries did him a bit by then too.

But all the stuff I've watched on that doc from West Brom to Real Madrid, he looked awesome. Had more tricks and skill than Barnes, pure flair, pace etc.. Bit like Ronaldo nowdays.

Aint seen a player take a corner with the outside of his boot before lol

Surely got to be the only player to move from WBA to Real, and probably the only one that ever will.

lukaku *taps bell end

saw the preview for this program and have to be honest never heard of him either, but was intruiged, sadly i forgot about it

They were an exciting team to watch back then, I remember them ripping utd a new one at old trafford, winning 5-3. Back in those days you often went to the game to see the star players of other teams as well as support your own (before abuse became the standard practice), Regis and Cunningham were such players. Best quote of the time was when big ron took them on a preseason trip to china, when asked why only 2 players went to see the great wall, batson (I think) replied "if you've seen one wall you've seen them all" who says footballers are thick.

It was sad seeing Ron again. He'll never be able to shake that Desailly comment. It'll be what he's remembered for.

He was brilliant. Saw him live a few times, and blimey, he had the lot. Pace , power, skill, grace.

the day that team went to old trafford and scored 5 in the snow will never be forgotten , quailty side then wba ,

It's a shame he didn't break into that england team and be someone to base our national team around.

We'd couldve developed similar type players sooner and better over the years rather than him being shunned due to the times.
