I searched but couldn't find a thread (actually found one ''Book recommendations'', 7 pages, but is locked atm) so wanted to create one. If that's not okay, or should be merged with the main thread if exists, mods feel free to do it.

Any recommendations? Impressions?

I last read two books from Stefan Zweig, Chess/The Royal Game (1942) and Fantastic Night (1922) both superb, although Chess having the edge for me. I recently discovered the author which is a shame, his psychological analysis on characters heavily impressed me. Will read as much as possible from him in the future. Big disaster that he killed himself at that young age, because of depression he was in caused by Hitler's rise in Europe. Huge loss for literature.

Would like to read your recent experiences with books. Cheers!

Anthony Horowitz "the word is murder"
Clever murder about the author ( Horowitz) being asked by a freelance detective to write the story of he he solves a murder where a woman who visited a funeral parlour to arrange her own funeral is murdered hours later.
Clever red herrings and a really clever writer
Also check out his "Magpie Murders" excellent whodunnit
