We'll get beat soon and then everyone will be on a massive downer, then we'll beat someone and everyone will be backing us to beat Barca.

Badly bipolar us like.

This statement has a lot of truth in it. Don't get too high or low either way lids.

What is particularly pleasing is that we aren't conceding many goals as well. However, the on blip is Liverpool and when we are playing as well as we are at the moment, why it was that our players and tactics failed to dominate against 10 men. But I am confident going in against Sporting (am going to the game, so want to see a nice game of footy.) Fearful that we might roll over for Utd though, but confident of beating Spurs.

Arsenal (A) 2-2 Osman, Pienaar
Man City (H) 2-0 Pienaar, Saha
Sunderland (H) 2-0 Cahill, Donovan
Wigan (A) 0-1 Cahill
Liverpool (A) 1-0
Chelsea (H) 2-1 Saha 2

Since then:

Sporting (H) 2-1 Pienaar, Distin
United (H) 3-1 Bilyaletdinov, Gosling, Rodwell

So much for the month of death. Treating the Europa League games as if they were Premier League games, we've collected 19 points out of a possible 24. Those statistics would be impressive against anyone, let alone Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Liverpool and City.

We've scored 14 goals through 9 different goalscorers. A slight concern is that we've kept only 3 clean sheets in those 8 matches, but we have been mixing and matching our centrebacks.

It was a wise move by Moyes resting Yobo today. I'm confident that we can nick a win over in Lisbon.

I'm also optimistic against Spurs, who have only recorded one league victory so far this year.

If you look at the table, with all our injuries and for form, we've lost the same amount of games as Liverpool, one more than Spurs and two more than United and Arsenal. We're well aware that our problem has been opening up teams who defend in numbers.

Fingers crossed we can make a bit more ground on Villa over the next few weeks. Only three points currently seperates City in fourth and Villa in seventh.

Just makes you wonder how good we would be if we had nearly everyone fit.

As it is we seem to get one or two back and lose some more to compensate.(n)

To put a positive spin on it, we've learned to live without our vital players for long periods of time. Other players have stepped up to the plate and we've become a stronger unit for it.

The injuries to Cahill and Fellaini will probably benefit Osman and Rodwell. Ossie has been in his best ever run of form in a blue shirt recently, whilst it will have helped to restore Rodwell's confidence no end today, following his involvement in the goal against us on Tuesday.

Cahill could probably do with a bit of a breather, being one of our most used players alongside Howard and Baines.

Yes I'm an american, but it is hard to deny that Donovan hasn't had a positive effect on the side. This great run of form starting at Arsenal was Donovan's first game.

And for the record, I'm not saying he is THE difference, just that he has helped more than some thought he would. If nothing else, having another quality (and healthy) player available, especially one with pace and that can put in a good run as a winger.

I hope he stays a blue for a long time... really don't want him to leave right now. he is such a natural fit for us right now.
