My current laptop is in for repairs, and think it's on its way out.

Any recommendations for my next one?

Don't want to pay over the odds like.

Stump up for a MacBook. You’ll save yourself money in the long run and have far less annoyances using said laptop.

Dell or Lenovo and you can't really go wrong in my experience.

i5 processor and 8Gb of RAM

What do you use it for? I'd windows 11 proof and get more RAM than 8GB

Just general use. Movies, streaming, etc. Wouldn't really use it for gaming but wouldn't mind having the option.

Had a HP Envy 15-AH150S previously.

If you want to game, also get a cooling table and an extractor, bulky but keeps them cooler and last longer
