As the title says really, not very computer minded and i have a laptop (HP) which keeps overheating, i use a cooling try which does not really help. I get between 30 - 60 mins use out of it before it turns off. Is this fixable? Has anyone has this issue before? Cheers

Open it up. Vacuum it / get an air spray thing to clean it up. Use it on a solid heat conducting surface.

Hi mate. Go to pc world and buy some compressed air, give the air vents a quick blast.

Also make sure your windows updates are updated, an AV is to. Is it old?

cheers mate will do, its about 2 years old so in pc terms i suppose it is, yeah i think the windows are updated as i think it automatically updates on its own but i will double check this. Cheers

That's not old for a pc, the compressed air will generally help. Ultimately, it's best to do a rebuild, I generally do mine about 9-12 months.

put it in the freezer lad:) happend to mine unscrew the back probs loads of dust inside ,took the piss getting the screws back in the rigt holes it if ur not watchin porn get some on, if might be exploading inside watching us play like barca give it a little satisfaction, if its got too much stuff downloaded/starting up sometimes makes them nuts. try changing the bios settings of the fan speed aswell

The vents to the fan that go to the heat sink are clogged, it's easy to take it out and clean it. Also download a temp gauge to check the next time it overheats, I got a good one at home, but I can't remember the name.
