Inspired by the thread about Clint Dempsey below, I began pondering about our Landon.

Of course there is speculation etc but I have always wondered since his first stint, why have we not signed this lad up?

Money? Gibson was Moyes's first cash signing in a season and half, which pretty much answers the question. But as he left, there was nothing this time about getting him back. Last time he was here Moyes was quick to point out that he would be looking into the prospect of a repeat loan. This time there wasnt very much, I get the feeling this time it was a 'thank you and goodbye'.

We need pace on the right hand side, thats a given. We also need someone who believes in the club and what it stands for. There is a poster on here (I cant remember your name sorry) who has a tag line on his messages which quotes just what Landon thinks of us. You can't teach that, which is why I think some of the Moyes'y signings dont come off, because they just dont 'get it' when it comes to understanding what we are all about...no names mentioned *coughBilycough*

I dont know if in the end this is a mere 'Landon Appreciation Thread', apologies if it is. The guy just made a big impression on me, and I think he should be a priority signing.

He's a bit old and out of contract in a bit so we'll prolly wait until then. That said, now that we are officially with Nike, they might contribute to a transfer fee as his sponsor to get him more global visibility.

I think there's every possibility we will look at this in December when Landon enters the last year of his contract.

IF a realistic price can be sorted For a player entering the last year and is the wrong side of 30 then maybe it may happen.

IF they want silly money I imagine we would just wait until it expires and make a decision then.
