Bienvenido una vez más,

So here we are in the 2nd preview of the weekends La Liga fest.

To start with check this out (well the first goal anyway)...

That was Gabilondo hitting a beast of a volley for Athletic Bilbao against Paris Saint Germain in their 2-0 win this week. My pick as goal of the week for a Spanish team. (my new weekly feature!). And it had some competition too!

So last weeks La Liga results looked like this:

Monday, 26 September 2011

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Getafe 1-0 Real Betis

Sunday, 25 September 2011

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Granada 1-1 Osasuna
Levante 3-1 Espanyol
Mallorca 2-1 Real Sociedad
Real Zaragoza 0-0 Malaga
Sporting Gijon 0-0 Racing Santander

Saturday, 24 September 2011

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Athletic Bilbao 1-1 Villarreal
Barcelona 5-0 Atletico Madrid
Real Madrid 6-2 Rayo Vallecano
Sevilla 1-0 Valencia

Christ knows why they came out in that order but there they all are.
That left the table looking like this:

1 Real Betis 5 - 12
2 Barcelona 5 - 11
3 Levante 5 - 11
4 Sevilla 5 - 11
5 Real Madrid 5 -10
6 Malaga 5 -10
7 Valencia 5 -10
8 Atletico Madrid 5 - 7
9 Real Sociedad 5 - 7
10 Espanyol 5 - 6
11 Mallorca 5 - 6
12 Osasuna 5 - 6
13 Rayo Vallecano 5 - 5
14 Villarreal 5 - 5
15 Real Zaragoza 5 - 5
16 Getafe 5 - 4
17 Granada 5 - 4
18 Racing 5 - 3
19 Athletic Bilbao 5 - 2
20 Sporting Gijon 5 - 1
(Games played then points)

And this weeks fixtures look like this:

Saturday, 1 October 2011
Osasuna v Mallorca, 17:00
Racing Santander v Rayo Vallecano, 17:00
Villarreal v Real Zaragoza, 17:00
Valencia v Granada, 19:00
Malaga v Getafe, 21:00

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday, 2 October 2011
Real Sociedad v Athletic Bilbao, 11:00
Real Betis v Levante, 15:00
Atletico Madrid v Sevilla, 17:00
Sporting Gijon v Barcelona, 19:00
Espanyol v Real Madrid, 21:00
Can't be bothered to do predictions as I was bloody miles off last week! However, picks of the weekend look like Athletico Vs Sevilla, and Espanyol Vs Real Madrid. They should be corkers. Other look a bit average.

Quick word on the Spanish teams in Europe this week:
Barca battered BATE Borisov (who beat Everton's under 6s in the Europa League a few years back).
Real battered Ajax, with Kaka not looking crap and after I tweeted Heitinga wishing Ajax luck #FFS
Alio's Valencia drew 1-1 with Chelsea after Kalou thought he was in nets.
Villarreal lost 2-0 against Napoli (my Italian team - woop)
Rocky Bilboa beat PSG 2-0 as mentioned before.
My Athletico boys drew 1 all with Rennes after a late Juanfran equaliser in France.

Enjoy the Spanish footie this week niños y niñas.
Adiós por ahora

Awesome bro, I never keep up with Spanish football so I will follow this indefinitely, another string to the GOT bow of covering all things fussball. Viva Los Che!

If this was 1998, I would sooooooo be doing the Italy one right now. Good work fella's, really appreciate the fine work

Osasuna 2 v 2 Mallorca,
Racing Santander 1 v 1 Rayo Vallecano,
Villarreal 2 v 2 Real Zaragoza,

Bit of a draw fest so far this weekend.

Valencia currently 1-0 up thanks to Canales.
