Bumped because of the trouble that Fillon is getting into over his (British) wife, who it transpires was employed as his Parliamentary assistant at a cost of £430,000 over eight years. She had previously told the media that she stayed at home and looked after their kids.

Add this to Macron's own unusual domestic arrangements, and it is hard to see Le Pen not winning.
 

France is a sovereign nation. The French can elect whoever they please - you have to be anti-democracy to think otherwise IMHO.

From a British perspective, presuming we ARE leaving the EU, the best result for us is a French leader who will immediately lead France out of the EU too. However if we are to remain in the EU then we would also need France to remain.
