I remember we were defending a free kick while he was here. He turned his back on the shot and made himself smaller, allowing the ball to fly by him. I know it's a tiny sample but I think it speaks volumes about a player's instincts. As a centre half I think that's absolutely unforgivable.

That does make you think of people like Distin, Dave Watson, Weir even Jags to a certain extent - not the best skilled defenders, but had that brave and physical aggression to defend well. Would be nice to have one such player - either Holgate transforms into one (unlikely) or we need to have one to pair up with Mina.
