Can see the logic in that to be honest. He obviously has an attitude problem and it was always his talent that was weighed against that. The ECB have obviously decided the diminishing returns meant he was no longer worth the hassle.

clearest indication that the next coach will be the truly uninspiring giles, to go with an uninspiring captain, imagine the ecb now approaching tom moody, and saying by the way you can't pick your best player. No doubts the likes of agnew will be delighted, some real agenda's in the press because KP never cosied u to them. and an nasty statement from downton at the end of a players career who has done more for rnglish cricket than any of those stuffed shirts

Saying to a player that no matter how well you play you'll never get picked is just as bad as continually picking players who play poorly. Opposition teams around the test playing world know it just got easier playing England. Will Prior, Bell and others be also shown the door? Trott and Swann have gone, now KP. Does anyone at the ECB understand succession planning?

I'm a big cricket fan and I think it's a step in the right direction, the guy obviously has a attitude or carries to much baggage and there is always a drama which follows him. In most teams he has been in controversy has followed him. As for Giles as coach, bod I hope not.

the meeting to decide this was between giles, cook and downton, looks like giles is nailed on bsed on this, would be incredibly arrogant to make this decision without the head coach, can someone sack cook now

****ing joke. What has he exactly done wrong? The best england side I saw 2005 had very tough character's to manage.. But we had a captain up to it.
