A lamentable re-writing of history on Hodgson's ousting from Anfield.

Maybe Reade feels a bit guilt that he was a member of the lynching party that forced him out at the request of the cult...the same lynching party that kept quiet when Dalglish and now Rodgers churned out similar league performances to Hodgson?

Clown.

Is that was not winning a game for England does for you,he is not exactly losing game after game,i am No england fan at all-i could not care less, only everton i want to win,but think he's done alright and would have had him over Redknapp any day as the england boss

Hodgson was unlucky at Liverpool I think. It was a club clearly going through difficulties and he happened to be the manager at that point.

Even during a period of crisis they still won a cup as well (Although it ws Kenneth that managed that feat)

Hodgson would have probably doen alright if he'd been given time, but no managers are anymore.

One of the worst sports journalists going who can't write a sentence without his embittered bias coming through. Whatever you think of Hodgson there's no need to write an article about him that criticises both his speech and his appearance. Part of Hodgsons 'failure' was due to some of the big I ams in the Liverpool team like Gerrard and Torres thinking they were just too big to be playing for him. When Kenny came Gerrard was suddenly running through walls again. He got slaughtered fo rhis time there but in reality asKenny and Rodgers have shown he just inherited a dire team. He was given very little money (well for Liverpool anyway) and still managed to get a decent player in Meireles. Capello did no better with the England team, indeed any manager who isn't brave enough to drop Gerrard and Lampard out of midfield will never do any better with the England team so its hardly down to Roy's failings. Its down to England producing players who can do nothing more than run fast in a staright line, ping the ball 60 yards on a diagonal and belt it in on the volley from 30 yards. Actually retaining possession is beyond all of them in that team exept Wilshere and Osman.

Hodgson paid the price for Benitez spending transfer fees like an embittered socialite ex wife on a huge alimony agreement. He also made the mistake of trying to partner Keane with Torres, much to Gerrard's dismay at having to play further back.

I wish I could give you 10 thumbs up for that one! Marvelous sir! Marvelous!!

It was a rotten position to be in really. He needed more support and more time. He got neither

Just saw this from the article

There may well be, as the cliche goes, few easy games left at international level, but had Sven Goran Eriksson or Fabio Capello been in charge, England’s place in Brazil would now be assured. They breezed through every qualifying group they faced and would have done in this.

he knows we only just won the group in 2002 Qualifying doesn't he? We were oen Beckham free kick away from the play offs

Total revisionist claptrap, they were chanting for Dalgliesh at the end if Rafas reign, and from the off of Hodgsons.

You even had R's supporting journalists ****ging him on twitter, but without putting those words into their papers. If that's giving him a chance then I'd hate to see what crucifying him from the start would have looked like

If we win our last 4 games - which is perfectly possible - it would easily fall under the definition of 'breezing through'.

Furthermore, we're even worse now then we were under their tenures, we had peak level rio, campbell, ashley cole, campbell, lampard, owen , beckham etc back then.

A horrible one eyed article.
