Urine tests are pretty old. Blood doping is where things are at now. Check this document out

http://bjsm.bmj.com/content/39/4/e18.abstract

Blood tests are rarely used to monitor the health of players. One third of players had not been tested for drugs within the preceding two years, and 60% felt that they were unlikely to be tested in the next year. The use of performance enhancing drugs appears to be rare, although recreational drugs are commonly used by professional footballers: 6% of respondents indicated that they personally knew players who used performance enhancing drugs, and 45% of players knew players who used recreational drugs.

And yet how many failed tests do we get each year? I can't think of many. It's a joke.

Or you can compare cycling to tennis (for instance)

Compare 2008 UCI(Pro-Cycling’s ITF)Stats with the 2008 ITF Stats:
In-competition anti-doping tests
UCI conducted 5,509 Urine tests and 587 Blood Tests.
ITF conducted 1,770 Urine Tests and 157 Blood Tests(only done at Slams).

Out-of- competition anti-doping tests
UCI conducted 2,013 Urine Tests and 4,649 Blood Tests.
ITF/WADA conducted 91 Urine Tests and 0 Blood Tests

Total Testing
UCI conducted 12,758 tests to the ITF’s 2,018.

Pre-competition medical blood screens
UCI conducted 466 tests to the ITF’s 0.

Grand Total of UCI 13,224 to the ITF’s 2,018

I don't believe that cyclists are somehow more corrupt than other sportsmen, and with the sad fact that even with the most stringent testing in the world, doping still goes on, it's hard to believe other sports aren't blissfully brushing this under the carpet.

Now now!
Let's not point the finger at other sportsmen when we have problems closer to home..

A reliable sauce tells me that Big Vic injects several litres of Ketamine before every match..
