Okay.

Statue bothering is a hot topic these days so is there any statue you would like to see torn down in your city or your country?

I will start by nominating the statue of Oliver Cromwell outside the Houses of Parliament.

The city of Liverpool was a Royalist stronghold and our forebears, led by Prince Rupert whose Tower is EFC's very symbol, led the heroic defenders when Cromwell's iron sided thugs besieged our beloved city during t' Civil War

And also because I am of Irish stock and the bugger committed mass murder and atrocities in the auld sod and he cut off Blessed Oliver Plunkett's head:rant:

I used to spit on his statue, when no one was looking, as I passed it by when I lived down that London

Correct. The mirthless, power crazy vandal

...they're a sign of the times, good or bad. Be it Ken Dodd or Bessie Braddock in Lime St station, Dixie, John Lennon, Eleanor Rigby or Shankley they are all part of our heritage much the same as Liverpool streets named after pioneers of the slave trade.
