What's the best way to clean a cheese grater?

I usually go to the car wash and go through holding the grater out of the window - don't get the wax setting though, it burns. There must be a better way. I must get round to buying that dishwasher.

Sandblasting mate works everytime more fun than dish washer.failing that freeze it into a block of ice .then hit it with a hammer ice falls off taking dirt with it

And anyway, yes I can. On another note, what would happen if the turntable motor in a microwave were to break? Would the food still cook evenly or would it be dangerous and explodey?
