What's your opinion of the whole situation regarding their funding, tory involvement and now police investigation regarding crimes been committed allegedly mate. Been in the news all day.
We've had our fair share of scandals lets say over in Ireland since the nineties involving charities', child abuse,etc but I'm just interested in the British perspective of what's happening in England now regarding this one basically lad
 

Too early to call, imo. Charity dearly loved by many fails due to mad woman in appalling clothes being unable to sort the finances out. Big bad Tories refuse to bail them out.

Claims that the kids would line up and be given cash in brown envelopes that they go and spend on weed? That's no way to run a charity.

In short, blame the Tories. That's where this thread is obviously heading.

I can't really understand why this is big in the bulletins at the moment. From what I've read, the government were spending loads baling out a badly run charity over and again? Eventually, because the founder refused to quit, it collapsed. Unless there's something more sinister undearneath.

They're going with mishandling of sexual assault claims. The stories told on the news were hardly the worst thing ever, we're talking about incidents involving poor desperate folk, tempers get frayed, people lash out and say the wrong thing. Of course it needs to be dealt with appropriately, but can't see it being a key driver for the closure of the charity.

I always thought said woman was one of the good guys down the years and continue to do so until proved otherwise. But thought you lot might have a better insight than me

yeah, but since the Tories redefined Child Poverty out of existence there's no need for the Government to give Grants for Child Poverty Charities to continue, especially those who's Leader appears regularly on TV arguing beyond doubt that Childhood poverty is increasing at a scary rate due to the Governments Class War 'Austerity' drive.

A 100% political taking out of an inconvenient popular opposition to one of the Governments key 'strategies'

Despite her ridiculous choice of clothing she seems like a good skin who's done a lot for them poor kids.
Would be looking for answers if I was living there and donated tbf also
