Alio

They call me Avocado Baby
At least we're not Kiddy Harriers......we'll be saying next

Sadly, could be the end of my local club soon enough. I know charging £18 or so to watch a game hasn't helped getting people into the ground...

SAVE KIDDY + FERRIS

I know 2 people of that video and one is a Toffee, ha.

Would be a real big shame. Dutch Toffee, maybe this is our chance?

Please not Kiddy. Would really be a shame. Loved every second of my visit there. Developed a real soft spot for them and watch out for their result every weekend. Thought they were saved, as the last I read, was they were on the verge of being taken over. sadly that didn't seem to work out.

I've never really understood how England can support so many professional clubs, to be honest, in today's TV age. It's just hard to see kids wanting to go watch their local club when they can stay home and watch the PL on TV.

See were you coming from, but guess that's what makes England special. Try to go to England as many times a season, as I possible can. Normally go for 5 days and in a perfect world, that means four matches during those days. I always found, the lower the league, the more interesting the experience. Lower league football is still football in its purest form and every club that goes into extinction is one too many.

You know I don't doubt that. My question was really more of how many people actually still support their local team in a day and age when so many PL games are on TV? Do people really spend their Saturdays at the local ground instead of staying home and watching the PL or La Liga or whatever.

Think that has to do a lot with local pride. Can relate to following a smaller club over here in Holland. Although Fortuna have been awful for the last decade or so, there's still a significant grow in young supporters. Maybe those modern age kids, aren't all brainwashed by the media after all. That and family ties. If your grandfather and dad supported the local club, there's every chance the kids will follow their example. Do think a lot of lower league supporters, have their local club as a second team, next to the more fashionable clubs.

Is that enough to keep these clubs in business? Personally I think it's great. I just wonder how they can survive. I hope they do.

Don't really know what the costs of running a lower/non league club are on a yearly base. However, I suspect it will get harder to keep them afloat by the season I guess.

Modern football really sucks.

I think thats why we dont televise 3pm kicks on Saturdays in the Premiership. Its to try and keep people going to smaller clubs on traditional match days, rather than sitting on their sofa watching Sky 4...

Apparently twitter alone has somehow helped raise 12k for Harriers....there's still hope!!!

So, not only are Kiddy now saved....we've just signed Lee Hendrie...

Only because Wrexham webbed Mansfield all over the place last night.

If 2-1 can ever be called a webbing.

Ha, Harriers will probably drop back down to 2nd in the League with the games in hand

Surprised to see them with the top form in Europe though. Stuck with the same manager who didn't win in the first 10 games this season.
