God grafter for us & I always liked him.
Does radio in Ireland and gives us a mention when he can & always talks good about us

Used to drive me mad that he got that consecutive caps record for Ireland, and couldn't believe it when we signed him. His first touch was often embarassingly bad. I remember an Ireland game where he was at fullback by the touchline and the ball was dropping from high up, and even with the nearest attacker not particular close to him he actually tapped the ball out for a throw rather than trust his ability to trap it! Kilbanes first touch and Robbie Keanes pretend attempts to win headers were probably my biggedt gripes when I used to go see Ireland regularly.

He was crap or average for us too, most of the time.

Having said all that I have to reiterate what most are saying above in that he is a real down to earth gent, and you couldnt not like him. Met him briefly when out on the lash in Dublin a few years ago and he was as sound as I expected.

Always remember him in the build up for Carsley's goal at Goodison vs. the [Poor language removed] ..... and jumping in on the pile on celebration.
