Player Valuation: £70m
Former Everton wing-half Kenny Rea has passed away at the age of 79.
Rea was born in Liverpool and signed as a professional with the Blues as a 16-year-old in 1951.
However, he had to be patient and didn't make his debut until September 1956 when manager Ian Buchan selected him for a game at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The hosts included legends Billy Wright, Ron Flowers, Bill Slater and Peter Broadbent in their team as they condemned Everton to a 2-1 defeat.
Unfortunately for Rea he was dogged by injuries and his future appearances were sporadic.
In total, he played 51 times before leaving in 1959 to join Runcorn.

I had the pleasure to interview Ken in January this year and can only count myself lucky that I shared his company and memories of his time with Everton. As we all know, it what was an era for players who never had it easy. He told me that he would loved to have played just one game in the modern day which would have set him up for his latter days of his life. Goodnight, God bless Ken
