Found out months ago that the ex wife had lost the house we purchased in 2011 due to money issues. The house she kicked me out of years ago, knowing full well at the time i couldn't afford much, such was my income at that time and didn't have family i could turn to in times of need.

"Be nice and good things will come to you" stands up to reason. People generally treat you better if you're nice to them.

Doesn't mean there's some universal force bringing it about, though. Terrible things happen to good people and vice versa. Karma is nonsense.
