I'll admit, that new roasties are good, but ultimately 6 month old tatties are best for roasting.
New's are best either simply boiled or sauteed.

They are if you par boil them first.

I do that with the little ones, chats, and just finish them off in the frying pan. Quicker and less messing about, I find.
