Just Two Teams...

With Northampton Town about to be crowned Division Two Champions ONLY Coventry City - in terminal decline and Oldham Athletic - Of NINETY TWO Football League and Premier League clubs...

Have waited longer than Nine times Football League, Five times FA Cup winners and one-time European Cup Winners Cup winning Everton Football Club for either a trophy or a promotion..

Not bad eh?

Stoke City, Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Bristol Rovers, Exeter City, Shrewsbury Town, Hartlepool United, Morecambe, Wycombe Wanderers, Colchester United, Leyton Orient, Rochdale, Bradford City and Oxford United have not won a trophy in the past 21 years but have won promotions. The remaining 74 teams have won a league or a cup or a play-off trophy.
If they made a Brasseye episode about Everton, this would be used as one of the key facts.

OK I accept it's OTT but I'm making a point. Even if you overlook that we've broken even on PL results in 20 plus years - midtable as an average I'm making a point that our board loves its little cosy golf club camaraderie. Yes, maybe Woods did show some spirit or rebellion on Wednesday night walking out on the hour mark. Good for him. Let's see more of this NOT GOOD ENOUGH attitude from the board. But just don't expect Kenwright to respond to it in the manner the fans want when they confront him. FFS if he is going to pull his finger out and get rid of "lovely man" Roberto then do it for the right reasons and get someone else in who can do the job. Otherwise it'll be another 5 years or more without a trophy... by which time Coventry and Oldham might have won something.

Yes, of course, I understand that but the point being made is every other club bar 2 has had a trophy or a day of celebration in the intervening period. Surely that proves our board needs to move its collective ass and do something about this inertia.
We'll have a celebration day.......

.....when Roberto is sacked

To be fair to the OP this is a interesting point of sorts, but I reckon the Likes of Portsmouth, Charlton, Notts Forest, Villa, Ipswich, Wolves, Leeds Fulham, Blackburn, Bolton, Sheffield United and maybe one or town other names that wouldnt look that out of place in the top flight, would love to change places with us.
