Player Valuation: £15m
So I was thinking, it is only a matter of time before every tom dick and harry can watch every premier league game in high quality... and with the rising ticket prices the fact that one could watch it for free at home or, as I do pay 35 quid for a years subscription to an hd site which streams it, people are going to be less inclinced to go to games. that 35 quid is about the same as I'd pay for a decent view for the hull game for instance.

My grand idea is for the PL to put the rights up for every premier league game, however they share it out is their choice, maybe BBC get some, ITV, Sky sports, BT sport, even eurosport could show a game a week. Ultimately they would get as much money as possible for this which could be distributed among the clubs in the equal manner that happens now. Madness surely? No one would go to a game? But part of my proposal is that this in turn would encourage clubs to lower ticket prices, and we would go back to the days where a ticket was the same price as a couple of hours minimum wage and not a days worth of min wage.

Obviously it's a very rough proposal but wanted to see if people thought it'd be a good idea, or if not, why not. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...

Ticket reductions shouldn't be dependent on dropping crowds making them a necessity.

If I had my way, I'd force all clubs to have a cap on ticket prices at £25 for adults and £15 for concessions for league games, and £20 and £10 for cup games. You'd find a lot more games selling out, improving atmosphere and also increasing revenue from food and drink, golden goal, programmes etc...

Trouble is, whilst clubs are paying players £150k a week, this isn't ever going to be a possibility, hence why there needs to be a wage cap in place.

With regards to TV coverage, there should be a more even spread of games, and for midweek evening games and early weekend kick offs, travel distances for supporters should be taken into consideration.

Would love to see that, but aint ever going to happen.

Things will only improve when the powers that be actually realise that a full stadium, noise, chants etc etc are actually an integral part of why the PL is marketable globally. Lose that, cash slows down.

They wont do anything though.

This is it. Think it was Caley Thistle who had a season ticket campaign with the slogan "Don't let your kids grow up thinking football is a TV show"

Thought for ages that if, just if, PL supporters could get their act together, and just all stay away from one weekend of games.

Pie in the sky I guess, but it would send such a powerful message that maybe things would start to change.
