Just seen this then.
The Toffees are bracing themselves for life without Marouane Fellaini, who has been continually courted by Chelsea.
Added to that, David Moyes has seeked reassurances from the board with regards to transfer budget as he intends to rebuild the team ahead of next season.
And now it seems Carlos has emerged as a target for the Toffess.
Portuguese paper A Bola has it that Everton are keen on Carlos and are willing to purchase his economic right.Real Madrid have also been hovering around Carlos, according to their report, however he appears ready to spread his wings and play in England.
Carlos has clocked up 21 appearances for Betis this season.

Also Football Espana reporting it.
Premier League club Everton will make a move for Real Betis winger Juan Carlos, according to reports in Portugal.
The 23-year-old, who is on loan at the Verdiblancos from Sporting Braga, is expected to leave Andalusia this summer, with David Moyes' side the most likely destination.
Braga paid Real Madrid €2.5m for the attacker back in 2011, but have deemed the Spain Under-21 international surplus to requirements.
A Bola report that the Goodison Park club will bid around €5m for Juan Carlos.
