Why not? Who is knocking at his door right now to give him a job? How long has he been out of work? If he doesn't get back somewhere, he might find himself on the fringes and being pushed out of a way back into the top levels of management. If Everton had the resources available for him to use and he did something here, he'd be off to another top job. He'd probably attract a better quality of player who would see us a stepping stone and a place to experience an elite level manager. If that pushed us along our route to being a team challenging for silverware again, I'd take that. It'd be short term for sure.
And as unlikely as I think it will happen, I think a determined approach from a team of Everton's stature might receive interest from him if there are no other offers on the table.
I fully expect Silva to be here this time next year anyway.
