Player Valuation: Free Transfer
Hi, people

Just read in a local newspaper that Everton has asked Sporting Gijon about their young left back, Jose Angel. He's 20 years old, plays left back and he has warmed the bench for a while, because the other left back, Canella, is already a very good player, but people in Gijon say he's a really good prospect. Sporting has valued the player in about 3 million euros.

The news link is in a web call Canal Sporting (dot es) (i can't post links yet, so copy&paste in your browser bar), it's in spanish, so I guess babelfish or something like that is required.

Let's see what happens, but I really think a left back is needed to cover Leighton Baines.

I have spoken to some Gijon friends and, by the look of it, it could be a movement by Sporting to see if they can sell some players before the summer transfer window closes (you know, tell the papers that Everton is after one of your players and next day Harry Redknapp will be calling in with a bag full of euros). They sold Michel to Birmingham City, so they know what they're doing.

I saw this guy play left back for Spain under 21s against Ireland last year - I think I posted a comment on one of the websites that we should look at him. He is technically outstanding but I would be a bit worried about how he would cope with the physicaity of the Premier League. He was up against Seamus Coleman on the same side of the pitch and they were the two best players on the pitch. He looked llike everything you would expect from the current batch of Spainish players - would be a good option to have at the very least.
