My personal preference is a posidrive screw.

When torques were new and thin on the ground, I used to think Sq drive, but I can live with torques.
All the philips / posidrive etc push the driver out if they get too tight and chew the head up.

Yeah you're right that posis cam out too easily - but in the practical world of clinging onto your patience and sanity by the fingernails - with posidrive there are better odds you have the right bit in your driver.

Interesting factoid- the phrase screwdriver is one we've absorbed from the US. The English term is turnscrew.
