Join me in the spirit realm.

Nice...It dawned on me, after I wrote my first comment, that there's no age statement...is it really only a 3YO or did they just decide not to say since it's less than 10? Not that I really care, I've had garbage 20 YO's; age is not indicative of quality despite what the industry would like the basic consumer to think (and pay for).

I fully agree.

Lagg Kilmory Edition has no age statement (NAS), but it is believed to be aged for around 3-4 years, based on the distillery's production timeline and the fact that it is their core range product made with their first spirit. The Lagg distillery, located on the Isle of Arran, was founded in 2017 and began distilling in 2019.

A fantastic tasting single malt, despite it's youth.

I made some blackberry vodka about six weeks'ago. It's lovely, a super blackberry flavour, very deadly ! I've read that you can use fruit infused alcohol a second time, particularly for a pseudo port made with sherry. Anybody heard of this ?
I have, after you posted about the BlackBerry vodka I looked at a few recipes and one of them suggested making a pseudo port with the berries, trouble is I cannot find it again. From memory it was using red wine and some additional sugar. I will keep looking.

I'm going to try this recipe, it's for sloes, but I've read elsewhere you can use it with the BlackBerry pulp ; there's also a chocolate one further down the page which looks very interesting.

I have a sloe gin and a sloe vodka on the go for this year. Not sure about something thats described as so sweet. Maybe next year.

it's only sweet because of the amount of sugar. I don't like it too sweet, needs a nice kick with an underlying sweetness. It definitely does mature very well, if you can resist.

As I have 7 or 8 on the go at the moment I think I'll experiment on the leftover pulp. I'll have quince, plum, damson, blackberry, a couple of sloes, and one with fruits I had leftover. I think I'll first try sherry/brandy and gin again with the two sloes. Might try port with the blackberry mush.

I will try the port with the blackberries, and also have a plum rum on the go - will use the plums in a Xmas trifle.

Just had a taste of my six concoctions. The plum gin was a standout, very fruity, also nice was the quince and sloe brandy. Only two months gone so plenty of time for them to further mature. A bit merry to be honest.
