So I'm currently watching Superman Returns (don't know why) and the music came on which is properly ace. Got me thinking, which is the best John Williams film music theme?!

Jurassic Park, and the Hook overture which I'm pretty sure Williams did.

since Bry' chipped in with Zimmer, I'm gonna mention Danny Elfman and his use of the Hungarian minor scale, which when used effectively, produces outstanding results...

Just listening to this again.

His music is so epic and perfect.

Listening to 'Hymns to the Fallen' from Saving Private Ryan. Just amazing music perfectly suited to the movie.

I think John Williams is phenomenal.

I was thinking of starting up a "Your Favourite Movie Soundtrack" earlier, haven't got round to it, and this bumped.

Absolutely love his stuff, especially the Star Wars tracks. They make the atmosphere of the movies for me.

John Williams is the best ever, for me. Ennio Morricone, Elfman, James Horner and Zimmer are boss but Williams all day for me.

Great bit of music, and standalone possibly better than my fave. I haven't heard all of his work, but for me, the music in Star Wars is just perfect, sums up the feeling and action of the film perfectly.
