Didn't Terry have his 1st game against us after 'mrs bridge,' seem to remember us giving him loads, lets hope he gets it tomorrow starting with players refusing to shake his hand (Drenthe kicking him in the cock).

When people ask me why I don't care about the England footballing side, from now on I'm just going to refer to John Terry and Ashley Cole.

I mean, they're all whoppers but those two take the whopper cake.

Agreed, it's hard to support a team with arseholes in it.

I don't believe I've just read this.

Haven't read the article but I can kiiiiind of see the quotes point. It all depends on how you take it. Of course racism should be dealt with, but after the match if the referee hasnt seen/ heard it. All I'm saying is, I would love to see a player just laugh in the face of the person giving the racial abuse and play a blinder. Same if it's coming from the crowd. Throwing a strop does nothing except get the reaction it was intended to get. Abusing a player because of the colour of their skin is disgusting and the perpetrators should have the book thrown at them but I know if someone called me a honkey or whatever I'd just laugh in their face. And most of the time in football matches it's about 50/50 white and black so it's not as if they are on their own being singled out. Tbh it IS rare in our domestic football, and the general consensus from most football fans and players is that it's wrong, so it's not as if the player is being ganged up upon- he'd have plenty of support from everyone on the pitch tbh. It's him versus the racial abuser and I think they should adopt Emile Heskey's attitude (another recent BBC interview) and get on with it on the pitch- use it to spur them on as opposed to a detraction- and then make a complaint to the referee. That is the only way to beat racial abuse. It's designed to get at the player and it's working.

btw, I was suitably outraged by this to post a comment. Oh yeah, turn a blind eye to racism and get on with the game....what an arsehole. I'm sure ferdinand had to have alot of guts to make a formal complaint and you've got idiots like that saying forget about it, get on with the game. Proper [Poor language removed].

Just an odd article. Not sure I understand the point, is the point "it's not as bad as it once was, so suck it up?" If so, that's pretty effed up. It's like saying "Well, I've given up enough racist tendencies, I'm not giving up the last few I still hold dear to the heart..." What a toolbox.
