course we should. i'd use david luiz as a barometer in this case tbh. there won't be a better english defender possibly for the next decade or so than john stones.

It's a tiny bit early to be saying that.
Don't get me wrong, he is good but there is a hell of a long way to go yet in his career. The wrong transfer, the wrong manager comes along to Everton and anything could happen.

Ciaran Clark is an example. When he first emerged I thought this was a very good defender that could be top for a long time. But I don't know whether it's Lambert's coaching or lack of confidence but he has looked a shadow of the player that emerged a few years ago.

On buying Stones, the fees you'll quote will send Gazidis head into a spin, so no chance.

I see us going back in for Perrin on the last day of the transfer window, when the player forces St Etienne's hand with a transfer request. Be a shame for St Etienne who are actually doing well in the ligue 1, in the European places and then lose your captain.
