Reports in the Daily Fail this morning that he is willing to take a 50% pay cut to play for us, and that his agent has approached the club. Apparently we are the only club he would take a pay cut for. Aren't we honoured?!

The head case would be a complete liability on and off the pitch unless he is a changed man, I think. Just one look at Rat Boy Suarez across the park tells you how likely that is, although to be fair Craig Bellamy, the man who could start a scrap in an empty room, does seem to have mellowed a bit as he approaches his pension.

I wouldn't touch Barton with a barge pole.

Wondered if anyone thinks he is worth a punt.

He did well at Marsaille, for 35k a week, I guess he wouldn't be a bad backup/rotation option with Gibson when/if he gets injured

Id have him all day long. I know hes a horrible little **** but i dont mind that in the middle of the park. I think he would offer something completely different to what we currently have and youve got to earn the right to play football against some teams, a battler in the middle could be what we need.

Also, love to see someone with a bit of aggression in the derby games.

You could argue though, that he had his chance and turned us down for more money at Newcastle. That for me is more of a reason why i wouldnt have him, not because he booted his way off the pitch against city.

Its all irrelevant though him offering himself to us. If RM dont want him its a nothing story.
