Joey Barton whoops

Nah. He's got a book out and while not desperate for the money, he's addicted to the publicity.

Those bets and the subsequent fine will be money well spent. Le Tissier did it a few years ago when he claimed to have bet on "time of first throw in" with a high street firm to "LE TISSIER IN SPOT FIX SHOCK ADMISSION " just as his book came out; bookmakers confirmed to the Racing Post that he couldn't have done so as they weren't offering prices on that type of bet then.

Being able to bet on the time of the first throw in/corner/yellow card epitomises how stupid betting is.

Ridiculous.

...yep, I mentioned this an hour or so ago on the Today's Football threads. Not surprised he appears to have erred again, I suspect that will be a common event through his life.

Yup. Just a case of Barton maximising his returns here

This just shows how thick the FA are if it took 10 years to find this out, thought they were slow on most things, but they have outdone themselves here big time lol

How have they tracked him making all of these bets anyway ? ... unless he had accounts with the Bookies in his own name , thinking about it that would not surprise me

It's now against the rules for any employer of a football club to bet on any football game, even stewards employed casually. Ridiculous!
