He wasn't involved in the match day squad of those matches though, so not THAT dodgy.
Inside info on injuries/team selection and other stuff the average punter wouldn't know

I'm just watching the Sunday Supplement here and it seems he had an account in his own name! Obviously some betting employee told someone who told someone else etc. Bit of a breach of confidentiality I would've thought but also a bit thick on Joeys part. Not sure, but based on what Osman said yesterday on Football Focus, whereby a bookmaker questioned him, maybe they've outed him.
If it came out that they knew he was betting, regardless of the rules, then it would question their social-responsibility and ethical stance.
Absolutely. Others are just far cleverer. I doubt its massive in the PL these days but certainly in the lower leagues it would be.I'm sure Barton is only the tip of the iceberg where pro footballers betting is concerned.
This from Kevin Thomson ex-Rangers, Hibs etc on his betting days at Middlesborough.Absolutely. Others are just far cleverer. I doubt its massive in the PL these days but certainly in the lower leagues it would be.
Yeh but the rules on no betting on any football whatsoever are only fairly recent. When did he play never heard of him? This from Kevin Thomson ex-Rangers, Hibs etc on his betting days at Middlesborough.
"Without being on first name terms with the woman behind the counter, we were there often with our Middlesbrough tracksuits on. It was hard not to know who we were."
He played 50 times for Boro between 2010/13. Very injury-prone midfielder.Yeh but the rules on no betting on any football whatsoever are only fairly recent. When did he play never heard of him?
