Joel Robles article

That's the problem.

We can surely appreciate that keepers make mistakes. Well I hope so anyway. But the errors that our last 3, probably more if you include the likes of Mucha (god love him) are not the same as the ones you see from the examples of Pickford, Forster and Schmeichel.

It's basics. I just want a normal goalkeeper. He will make mistakes of course. But ones that normal keepers make. Not the insane ones of Howard and Robles.
I'm not sure Robles has had that many insane moments though Ijjy. There was the penalty at the weekend clearly, but name me a keeper who hasn't done something like that before. The other one I would highlight is the role out to Schneids for the second Spurs goal. But Morgan was equally to blame for that which everybody seems to have conveniently forgotten about as the man can do no wrong. The other issues n goals I would put down to poor positioning which is what this article tackles. If he can have this issue coached out of him we have a very decent keeper on our hands.

All opinions but I see Robles do things that keepers shouldn't do.

Look, I don't hate Joel. He's done ok. I just want someone else in nets. Not sure who yet though.

That's the problem. We all have high expectations of our keepers which probably comes from being brought up on Southall and Martyn. I just don't seen anybody out there at the moment who is a clear step up on Joel and who we could realistically attract at the moment. There's been a lot of talk of German keepers but I haven't been impressed by the two that came into the premier this season, and both were quite highly regarded over there. The only one that springs to mind is Jack Butland and he's been out for a full season so there's question marks over him too.

Luckily it's not our jobs to find the players.

From looking in the transfer thread this is a very very good thing.

He stinks of Martinez. Never know what you're going to get with him, there are loads of GK's who are much better solid number two

My opinion is he will stay and sign a contract, new GK bought in summer, he will throw toys out pram and move next year to a bottom half Spanish club
