We'll never really know just how good Joe Parkinson was gonna be. I thought he had everything to go on to become an Everton great. So only because of that, it's Barry for me.

who was the better midfielder..
Different style of player,
I had no idea who Joe Parkinson was before Mike Walker bought him (from Brighton or Bournemouth, or somewhere), but injury robbed us of a very good player.
Gaz Baz was a signing I was completely underwhelmed about if I'm being completely honest. But humble pie has never tasted SO good.
So I would go for Barry. Maybe because of longevity, which is not your question, but he has done an incredible job for us. And is still doing so.
In fact, Barry could be THE most difficult player for Everton to replace when he finally does retire.
So Barry for me.

Parkinson was a fabulous midfielder but injury cut short his progression. Barry looks like he'll play till he's 70 so it's tough to compare. At 24, Parkinson was a better midfielder

....not even close, Barry is a different level. Let's not forget we are only seeing the old veteran, I recall him in one of his first games playing CB at Goodison in a 0-0 draw. I think he was 17 and might have been up against Duncan Ferguson, the kid never broke sweat.

When Koeman says he's one of the best he's worked with, believe it. When he's first name on the team sheet as a veteran for a manager who doesn't suffer fools, believe it. Parkinson is no comparison.

It's Barry. It's heart over head to say Parkinson at any stage of his career.
Don't get the pairing if I'm honest. One has a long and distinguished career and the other had his extinguished by injury before it had really taken off.

Maybe Carsley and Barry would be a better pairing, but Gaz would win this hands down too for me.
