doesnt Pardew have some sort of proviso in his contract that if he's sacked he only gets 12months compo? I really recall reading that from multiple places. which would make that "he hoped Pardew would walk" redundant, no?

His contract reportedly has performance clauses in it, that he needs to achieve, but it's unclear if there's a 12 month compo clause, in fact there's reports that say it'd have to be paid in full & in return Newcastle would get the same value in compo should he be poached.

You have to remember that Pardew's stock was high at the time he signed that new deal, having greatly overachieved getting them into Europe & winning manager of the year.

In any case, even with a 12 month pay off clause, that's £1.5m. Pay pisshead Joe £250k to unsettle the beaut & save yourself £1.25m............

Joke the way they are run. Even Shearer was moaning about it on MOTD last night.

Financially, its run spot on now compared to when Ashley took over. He absorbed the 75 million pound overdraft and debts into a interest free loan to the club, saving in the region of 8 million pounds per year on interest payments.

I'd rather have Ashley running our club then the current board we have, no doubt he would have plans in place for a new stadium.

Hmm...Our lot are mince in many ways. But not sure about that tbh. Owning the club maybe, but not running it.

He would most probably find a place for John Barnes, the man is a joke IMO

Fans of clubs like Newcastle who think they have it bad should count their blessings they dont have luvvie RS kenwright as owner, imagine another club chasing the top 4/6 going 2 full seasons without making a money signing like we had too, utter joke our board are.

I'm sure they do, all the time mate. Imagine your club being run by Kenwright and not having Pardew on a 6 year contract or Joe running your transfer business. They must look at us and think what utter fools!

Yeah lad they must look at us & say there for the grace of god....

Given that under his tenure they've had a £40m negative transfer spend, employed clowns like Wise & Kinnear, got relegated, had their ground name after a pikey sports shop & been a laughing stock on numerous occasions...
