BBC reporting that he was due to be inducted into the Spuds hall of fame next week

Begs the question how in God's name Jimmy Greaves wasn't one of the first names on the list. Maybe a bit of politics but seems insane

Next week?! Its taken then this long? Isn't he the best Spur ever?

That was my thought when I posted but I've read a few things since that suggest that Jimmy Greaves had turned down numerous invitations from Spuds to be inducted in to the Hall of Fame and they had only now managed to talk him into accepting. Might not quite be the snub that I originally took it to be...

Edit: just seen Y**4life's post which says pretty much this

I was at the Lane in April 1963 & saw him score 4 against the rs when Spurs won 7 - 2. On a family holiday in London for Easter. We eventually won the league the following month, but just when we needed the rs to get a result!! Typical of the neighbours. We drew 2-2 against Brum at home that afternoon so it was a bad day for one 10 year old!

Meanwhile, lads of our generation know what a great striker Greavesie was - lethal !! Get well soon lad!
