Jermaine Defoe

Player Valuation: £70m
I have always liked Defoe as a player and a finisher. Always thought you got full value from his effort. Up until when he became involved with Bradley and his family I always had him badged as a bit of 'The Big I Am'. Bad taste in designer gear, sort of flaunting his wealth.

How wrong I was. The way he had taken Bradley to his heart, made numerous visits to him, sat with him, cuddled him, genuinely cared about him has changed my view of him immensely.

I was wrong about Jermaine. A prince among men. Always welcome a Goodison and will receive a huge ovation I am sure.

I posted this in a separate thread so as not to derail the Bradley thread.

Gone up massively in my estimations.
I hope he is given time to get his head right after this. Most folks thoughts will be with the family at this horrible time, I hope Defoe is offered similar support.

Not a bad word to say about him. That kid hero worshipped him and he lived up to the billing in exemplary fashion. He's shown time and time again in recent months just how much of an effect Bradley had on him. The love is as heartfelt and genuine as it gets. Best of luck to him at Bournemouth and his future life beyond football.

I'm wondering, should the club bring Bradley's family to Goodison for the Bournemouth game? I know he's probably already met with them privately, but given how much the wee lad touched our club, would it be a fitting gesture or too mawkish?
