I liked him, for free he did a great job. considering he got double figures and i'm sure Players we have bought for real money like kone and niasse would struggle to do that, let alone Naismith, Anichebe, Jelavic, Straq etc

Imagine the meltdown here these days if in a summer we only singed Magueye Gueye and Beckford on a free. I'd love to see it.

Was Beckford really as bad as some make out ? I thought he was a good signing at the time. Done the job he was required to do.

It's amazing how well he performed for us really, as good as he was in league 1 he never really set the championship alight. To get double figures in the premiership including goals at anfield and Stamford bridge is some acheivement for someone well above his level.
