I have a friend who is in the know what is happening around in KRC Genk and he said me we offered some money for Jelle Vossen but our first bid was rejected. He said as well there are two other clubs from England and one club from France in the battle for him with us.

I will try to gain more more info as soon as possible.

In short what my friend said to me, he sees him like great striker, he looks quite like younger Belgian version of player like Huntelaar and he thinks he would be great bargain buy for us. He got 17 goals (top scorer of Belgian league) and 7 assists in 27 games last season and he helped a lot Genk to won the Belgian title.

And I see, we were already linked with him in media as well.

Googled Jelle Vossen / Everton. We've been linked with him frequently over the past 12 months - it looks as though our scouts have been keeping tabs on him. Some stories suggesting a price of £5m. I've seen nothing though that suggests to me that we're close to making an offer, so probably just rumour/speculation.

One of Belgian football's prized assets, though. And from what i know about Belgian football (i played three seasons on FM as manager of KV Mechelen, which amounts to a bachelor's degree of the Jupiler League, i believe), those assets don't come cheap. Look at what we paid for Felli. Or the asking prices being slapped on players like Lukaku, Defour and Witsel. We have also been linked earlier with wingers Jonathan Legear and Mbark Boussoufa. All of these, including our Jelle, are most likely to cost in the double figures in millions. Making them highly unlikely targets.

Then again, i'd love me a few more belgians at our team. And Vossen seems to fit playing as a lone striker if necessary.
