Javelin offical speared in throat and dies

Surely javelin shots can be measured in some other way, seems stupid running infront of a sharp object travveling at high speed.

Reminds me of that bloke on the race track yonks back who held his arms out to catch that flying tyre - remember that one?

Thankfully i haven't, i'd imagine it would be similar to when Vivian of the Young Ones sticks his head out the train window before a tunnel on their way to London lol.
 
Never understood why the governing body of these events allow it to happen, what difference will it make if the officials move out after the object has landed ? We have TV replays for a reason.
 

I mentioned this during the Olympics, about how f*cking mental they are rushing out as it's mid flight and waiting so close to where it's meant to land.

Something's eventually going to go wrong.
