going there on honeymoon on 13.5.2013, going tokyo, osaka, kyoto and a couple of other places..anyone been ? reccomends? i would have normally done a load of research by now...but the stupid, stupid wedding has got in the way!

also im gonna miss the champions league decider vs chelsea! unless i can find somewhere showing it...

been to Tokyo, Yokohama and Kawaguchiko, then on to Mt Fuji

Tokyo is wonderful but it's a very confusing place, loads to see and do, can be expensive though

deffo research it, there's a decentish man made beach and funfair at a place called Odaiba, Asakusa is great to see the temples and visit the little stores which apparently have been there since time began, and a stroll down Akihabra or Electric Street as it's known is great too for all your technology and wonderful toys and stuff

go to the big fish market Tsujiki I think it's called, great even if you don't like sushi/sashimi

loads of musueums and art galleries at Ueno, end of the train line

I went in May 2010 and it was pretty hot, oh and be prepared to see lots of homeless people, and crows for some reason

I could try and post some pics for ya later x

nice one, i like crows...going to yokohama too, i really must do some research..alot of the problems is there are no 'obvious' things as must do's like london adn new york, but thats also what i find intriguing!

ok mate

deffo must do's I would say are...

hit up the metropolitan government building for great views of the whole city, it's free and the queues aren't too bad

go to Asakusa, see the temples, try the street food, the sweet chestnut paste things are delightful, loads of tourists here

hit up absolutely any ramen bar and slurp yourself silly on bowls of noodles, yakitori is decent too, it's like grilled chicken on skewers and is great with an Asahi beer, although a lot of the beer over there isn't really fantastic, it can be like lager flavour soda what's just had alcohol added rather than brewed as we like it

head on down to Harajuku area to hit the markets and see the weirdo's walking round in crazy costumes

go to the sumo, it's a buzz but relatively expensive

and I'd deffo take bus ride to Mt Fuji surrounding areas (well cheaper than the train), about three hours from Tokyo (less from Yokohama) and there's a pretty big funfair type place close by lake hakone I think

make sure your chopstick skill are up to snuff, and that Sake sh!t is not to be taken lightly
