Basically after lockdown a few of us will be carrying a few extra pounds …. No fat shaming here .. I’ve recently got back involved with local football and in the new year plan to work on my fitness … I’m a realist and understand “it’s Xmas” that’s why I’m saying new year. Anyone else doing the same we can support and encourage each other in here….

Great idea.

I'm 60 but pretty fit for my age.

I go to the gym most days and do Yoga and play competitive table tennis twice a week.

I also do a lot of gardening.

There are many ways to get and keep fit.

I always reduce my amount of exercise in December to give my body a break and in the knowledge that I am going to be eating and drinking too much.

So from 2nd January to end of the month I give up alcohol, eat super healthy and increase my level of exercise.

It is important that anyone taking up exercise and trying to get fit should check with their doctor that they are able to do so ( of course in the vast majority of cases doctors will welcome the idea because being fit is generally good for your health) and then gradually reintroduce fitness into their daily regime.

Build it up gradually and you are more likely to maintain it as a lifelong regime.

Good luck everyone.

It’s near on impossible to have a health kick whilst supporting the blues. If I’m not severely over the limit whilst watching that shower of plums play it’s depressing.

Good luck on your adventure to becoming a better person.

Why put off today?
Try walking to the shops.
If you drink Costa or even the powdered stuff, the crema is full of fat, try cutting back.
Habits are hard to break tho.

Was going to post, I might give up Everton. I'm sure a lot of other bad habits would follow.

Joking aside, I need to stop eating so much sugary junk food. Such a bad time of year though, dark crappy weather etc.

I’m actually fairly fit… work in an outdoor activity based job, play footy once a week, walk miles and ride my bike miles. Cutting back in alcohol, crisps, dry roasted peanuts etc and becoming more healthy is the aim.

I’ll eat your share tubs

Been neglecting the gym since the summer ended, so gonna pick that back up in the new year. Also gonna start playing footy again as well.

The main 'issue' I have is that I lead a very active social life, so I'm drinking and eating out most weekends.

Don’t write off marginal gains. It all adds up to a big thing.

- Walk to the chippy and back from the pub instead of getting a lift off the Mrs
- If you’re working from home do a few press ups in between calls
- Have one less sugar in your tea.
- Even a little daily squat challenge (loads on the internet you can box off in about 5 minutes)

Yours,

A Schwarzenegger
