Sky Sports sources understand Everton youngster James Wallace is poised to join Tranmere on loan. Hope he gets the same experience as Jose and comes good

Everton midfielder James Wallace is set to join Tranmere Rovers for a month.

Wallace, 20, follows teammate Jose Baxter, who made quite an impact during a temporary spell at Prenton Park earlier this season.

The Blues have been keen to get the Academy graduate out on loan to get some invaluable game-time.

Wallace did spend a month at Shrewsbury but barely played because of suspension, while a switch to Stevenage fell through last week.

Baxter flourished with Les Parry's men earlier this term and both Everton and Rovers will be hoping Wallace can follow suit.

Several young Blues have impressed away from Goodison already in 2011/12 with Luke Garbutt (Cheltenham), Shane Duffy (Scunthorpe), Jake Bidwell (Brentford), Toto Nsiala (Accrington) and Femi Orenuga (Notts County) all joining Baxter in impressing in the lower leagues.

Subject to the paperwork being completed in time, Wallace will go straight into Tranmere's squad for their match at Bournemouth on Saturday.

I've honestly never understood why this hasnt happened more in the past with Tranmere, maybe the Johnson factor?

Les Parry seems keen for it, and it will benefit all so really would be an ideal way, and place for our youngsters to get first team football
