Beattie has always been an idiot was my main point, I remember him needlessly headbutting a Chelsea player hence costing us the game like 5 minutes in.

Not the way I remember it, it was obstruction by Gallas who then milked the referee with his dive and roll. Beattie scored 30+ in the prem for Saints, not an every season wonder for an Englishman. When he came to us we weren't setup for him, he needed service from wide like he got from the likes of Etherington et al. We'd have been better off keeping Bent who also went to the knackers with Beattie's arrival. 2 birds, 1 stone on that deal.
