Hi fellas, you know I spend quite a bit of time on your board, and realise that you may not be interested in talking about SCFC players, but according to those in the know at Stoke, the Beattie deal will go through for defo tomorrow

Is he still up to the Prem, or was it injuries that saw him leave Goodison, because when you bought him I thought you had a good buy

And good luck for your next two clashes with the enemy.

Artetas free kick was superb again on Saturday, and if you revert back to when we played you earlier in the season, I said you would finish in the top 6-7

Cant believe your away form, if only you had fortress Goodison you would be pushing for a top four

Mate, please dont write in RED!!!!!!

Well there was a thread about Beattie somewhere, i think the general view was he wasnt quite good enough for us. He tried hard, but he was lacking, hes dropped down a division and hes scored for fun, maybe he can bring the confidence with him. He has some talent and i think he will do ok for you. But he wasnt quite what we needed.

He'll be decent for you, i'm sure of that.

He's absolutely awful on the ball but does work hard and is a good finisher when he has the confidence.

In my opinion he is not good enough for the Premiership but if the worst happens to you lot, he'll do the job in the Championship

:D:D

Its just a habit of mine to write in red - naturally, but its not THEIR red honest

I don't think he will be good enough for you unfortunatly at this level.

Would probably get you 7-10 goals over a season at a push but i don't think he will score enough to get you to mid table. But he might just be the man to help keep you up if he fits in and finds some form.

Most people know that i thought Beattie was good :). Some of his goals were great, as you can see from his Sheffield goals too...

...But we got a 'better' striker in - and because of our 4-5-1 formation, he got booted to the bench. From their he had some chances - but he had lost confidence. Then when Everton got an offer Moyes accepted and Beattie obviously wanted to leave - play first team football, be one of the best players in the team.

Depends if you get lucky and he scores on his debut. When he's on his game he's decent and will score you a few goals. Bit of a **** tho.

Hmmm. I think he's always had more potential than he's been able to deliver. A little overweight during his time here. Strachan, who managed him at Southampton said that he had to be 'superfit' to give of his best. He never really managed that with us, which is a surprise because Moyes makes a virtue of making players very strong - hence our glut of late goals.

Beattie's main value to us, I think, was in making goals with knockdowns from the endless punts we used to specialise in. He made beauty for James McFadden with a knockdown a couple of seasons ago.

I hope he cuts it for you because I want you to stay up - you're a proper football club. And well done last weekend - unlucky not to win.

A confidence player, never ever really had reason to be confident at Everton, what you are guaranteed though is that he will give you 100% every game

He did well in the 05/06 season after our dodgy period.

Played well and scored some important goals.

I think Beattie will score a few goals for Stoke between now and May and will add to the threat from Delap's throw-ins. There is a lot more to Stoke's game than long throw-ins and set-pieces but it is a great weapon to have. Beattie can certainly perform in the Premier League if his mind is on the job, the question is will Beattie give is all for the Potters?
