Yes, I vaguely remember me dad going in to buy goalie gloves (he played for the latter day st Domingo fc, believe it or not. Everton lent them kit in about 84 for an fa cup preliminary round cos of the history, obviously me dad got big nev's number 1)

as he was a former blue, jacks was the ONLY place my dad would shop!! And they sold air pistol/rifle pellets to kids when i were a lad so top marks all round!!

They also sold darts.....great for pigeons!!

yep sure do, best place for a decent Ellesse polo shirt too

Jack Sharp himself of course being a former Everton player

It had the proper sports stuff, probably had a resurgence with all the tennis t-shirts and the Pringle and Lyle & Scott stuff, but then other shops overtook when it became the fashion.
Any arl Prog. or pic usually has a Jack Sharp ad on the front of the mainstand, right behind where I sit now, if youy can see the church on the pic then the ad is usually there as well.

was on whitechapel, opposite where the Metquarter is now

Ahh. Sounds familiar. Anyone remember the trainees shop on bold st, where you went downstairs?

also, who remembers DIRTY SPORTS in St Johns? used to get me christmas clobber every year from there, boss nike trackie, and a spanking gleaming pair of Reebook classics.
